| Carson Jernigan Sworn In as Newest Bermuda Run Town Council Member |

BERMUDA RUN, N.C.(June 12, 2026) — Carson Jernigan was officially sworn in as the newest member of the Bermuda Run Town Council during the Town Council's June 9th meeting, filling the unexpired term of Mayor Rae Nelson. The term will continue through November 2027. Jernigan's appointment follows Nelson's elevation to Mayor after the resignation of former Mayor Mike Brannon earlier this year. Nelson had previously served as Mayor Pro Tem before being sworn in as Mayor in May. A resident of Bermuda Run for the past six years and a member of the Davie County community for eight. He currently serves as a Principal Consultant with Caprice, where he focuses on client strategy and supply chain consulting. He holds a bachelor's degree from North Carolina State University and an MBA from Colorado Technical University. As he begins his service on the Town Council, Jernigan said that he hopes to represent residents while preserving the character that makes Bermuda Run unique. ""Our town has changed from a population and demographic standpoint over the years, and I think it's important to have viewpoints from individuals that reflect the intentions of the entire community, including those with younger families," said Jernigan. "I'm serving to be the voice and vessel to ensure that the town's interests and intentions line up with our great community makeup that we love," Jernigan said. Reflecting on the future of Bermuda Run, Jernigan emphasizes his commitment to maintaining the town's small-town character while supporting its continued growth and success. "Bermuda Run is a wonderful example of how small-town America can continue to thrive in an always-changing world," Jernigan said. "I am here to support the community that we all embrace." Jernigan has three children — Grant (9), Elle (7), and Rob (5) — and attends Calvary West in Bermuda Run.
